PATHWAYS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL

The Citrus County Coalition for College & Careers is a nonprofit organization that works with community partners to support and provide resources that advance students’ educational goals. Volunteers meet with students to help with post-secondary plans, including entry to Colleges & Universities, Career & Technical Schools, Military, and straight into careers.

How We Support Students

Throughout the year, programs with partners help students and families with post-secondary plans such as:

Assist with College Planning Process including: 
  • COLLEGE EXPLORATION, YMCA Summer Experience
  • Help completing ONLINE COLLEGE APPLICATIONS
Assist with Financial Aid Including: 
  • Scholarship Applications
  • FAFSA (Free Application for Federal StudentAid),
    FAFSA Nights At CF
  • Help with unexpected COLLEGE or TECHNICAL SCHOOL COSTS
Provide GRANTS & SCHOLARSHIPS for financial assistance
Help with ACT TEST, SAT TEST and ASVAB tests, including cost of exam
Serve as MENTORS, ADVISORS, and TUTORS
  • Visiting students weekly & assisting with pathway planning
  • Assist students with RESUME and COLLEGE ESSAY
  • Assist with the HOUSING process

What We Do

Information: We offer information on the college application process, college selection, technical school options, careers and related processes.

Collaboration: We coordinate volunteers and services and collaborate with partners to help students as they determine pathways after high school.

Mentoring: We provide mentoring, tutoring and counseling (to include college and technical school exploration, preparation & application, career guidance, and job skills support).

Scholarship: We help with financial aid process and offer financial assistance and legal support.

Support: We provide support and resources, especially for our most at-risk students.
