With 41 years of experience in education, Patrick Simon served 34 of those years with Citrus County School District as a teacher, district level administrator, and school administrator, including high school and elementary school principal. Patrick and his wife Nancy are both retired, and their son, Patrick, is a graduate from Lecanto High School and later the University of Miami.
Amy Crowell is the Director of Research and Accountability for Citrus County Schools. She entered the education field over 20 years ago and has served in roles ranging from elementary school teacher and instructional coach, to school and district administrator.
Donna Small was born and raised in New York and lived there until she and her husband Albert retired to Citrus County in 2016. Donna had a 33-year career working for IBM and raised their 2 children while working full time.
Becca York-Alcorn is an Educational Advisor at the College of Central Florida Citrus Campus and has helped Citrus County high school students and adults to transition into college for nearly 20 years. She lives with her husband of 10 years in Citrus County.
Dr. Brant is a practicing Radiation Oncologist. He has lived in Citrus County and practiced here since 1991. Prior to moving to Crystal River, Dr. Brant was an Assistant Professor in the College of Medicine at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He is married to Kay and has been for 44 years. He has 3 sons, 3 grandsons and one granddaughter.
Mr. Darrick Buettner began his teaching career in 1991 for Mount Carmel Secondary School in Belize, Central America. He was a coach and teacher from Gallup High School in New Mexico until 1998. He has been teaching in Citrus County since then. Mr. Buettner is the former International Baccalaureate Coordinator for Lecanto High School, having served from 2007 through 2020. A past president of the Florida Association of IB Schools, he now serves has the Coordinator of Special Academic Programs for Citrus Schools.
Thomas Kennedy has served on the Citrus County School Board for 10 years and continues his work advocating for students and supporting technology in education. Previously, Thomas was the manager and operator of his own successful construction company developing speculative homes in the Central Ridge areas of Citrus County.
Joe Marteski, a native of Southern New Jersey, moved to Florida in 1988. He retired from a consumer products sales career, then became a community volunteer. Homosassa became his home in 2013. He has two sons.
Dr. Parikh is a neurologist in Crystal River, Florida and is affiliated with Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center and Citrus Memorial Health System. He has been in practice for more than 20 years.
Patricia Thomas is a retired Circuit Court Judge. She served for over 25 years on the circuit bench in Florida’s Fifth Judicial Circuit. Prior to being a judge, she served on the Citrus County School Board.
